Kate Samankova is a Ukrainian abstract painter based in London. Her work is rooted in close observation of the sky and shifting atmospheric conditions, using clouds as a starting point to explore transience, movement, and perception.

She graduated with First Class Honours from Nottingham Trent University and is currently studying MA Fine Art Painting at Camberwell College of Arts, University of the Arts London.

Her practice is process-led and develops through gesture, repetition, and material exploration. Working primarily with oil paint, she builds surfaces through brushwork and palette knife marks, where physical movement and the behaviour of paint guide the outcome. Rather than representing a fixed image, her work responds to change over time, allowing each painting to emerge through making.
